King Of The Jews - Part 23"And the world will live as one", sang John Lennon in the song "Imagine". A unified world has been the dream of man since Babel. It has also been the dream of Satan since the beginning. "One" world is easier to control since "One Leader" can control it. One man indwelt by Satan, one world under his control, one system to control his world, built by man for man and run by man. 666. "Of the people, by the people, for the people". Sounds familiar. It has such a great ring to it and such a very strong appeal to man's ego and pride. Man, the sum of all things finally in control of "his" world. But like monarchies overthrown by dictators and dictatorships overthrown by rebel movements, things always go from bad to worse. The Czars gave way to the Bolsheviks, the Emperors lost out to the mad-man Mao, Batista the dictator lost his fiefdom to Castro, a murderous strong-man and the beat goes on. Democracy is doomed to failure. Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings, but Democracies always fail. In fact, the very word means "mob rule". In any event America is not a true democracy but a Republic, for the few remain in control of the many. Here's a quote from an insightful book, "Why Democracies Fail".
These lines were penned two centuries ago by Professor Alexander Tytler. Just yesterday the Federal Reserve Bank began bailing out Mortgage Lenders to prevent a complete implosion of the financial sector. Our country is spending itself into debt beyond calculation, borrowing from China and other foreign nations to meet our ever-growing budget needs for entitlement programs, pork-barrel projects above and beyond what is truly necessary. "The borrower is servant to the lender" Proverbs 22:7. My aim here is not to politicize, but to inform, "the powers that be are ordained of God". Romans 13:1. We are commanded to pray for our leaders, pray that God keeps them honest and wise. Regardless of who is in political office, God is Sovereign and in control. "Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness". Matthew 6:33 "Unity in Diversity" is the slogan of the European Union. This United States of Europe is believed by many scholars of eschatology (end-time prophecy) to be the final realization of the rebuilding of the Roman Empire. "Humpty-dumpty sat on a wall, Humpty-dumpty had a great fall, all the kings horses and all the kings men, couldn't put Humpty back together again". That childhood rhyme was written about the Roman Empire, whose power and glory have been sought after since its demise in the early part of the first Millennium after Christ. The Spirit of Rome, just as the Spirit of Babylon, has never died, but has continued through the auspices of the Roman Catholic Church. "Unity" is the watchword of Catholicism. Wherever the Roman Catholic Church has marched, it has embraced the local religions and amalgamated them. Constantine began this spirit of ecumenism by making "Christianity" a State Church. In a sense, that was the beginning of the end of the real, invisible Church. Amalgamation or mixture or admixture is an abomination to God. Tellingly, the European Union was started by the signing of the Treaty of Rome. The chief mark of Ancient Rome was its resolute will to conquer. Upon conquering, the vanquished were absorbed into the behemoth and Pax Romana, the peace of Rome was then established to keep life stable and quiet. The Anti-Christ and his system will "...come in peaceably, and obtain the kingdom by flatteries". Daniel 11:21. In fact, the book of Daniel is key to all end-time prophetic understanding and is confirmed by the book of Revelation. Daniel looked forward in time, while John was taken into heaven and shown history in reverse, from the end to the beginning. Long before Rome existed, Daniel saw and described it as being the last empire on earth. In the dream which Nebuchadnezzar had and Daniel interpreted, the statue with the head of gold, upper body of silver, belly and thighs of brass and legs of iron and feet of iron and clay foretold the end from the beginning. As Daniel, who told the King what he had dreamed, revealed its meaning, he gave the chronology as follows: Babylon, Media-Persia, Greece, Rome, and the final permutation of Rome, the feet and toes of clay and iron. As he told the King, "Thou art the head of gold (Babylon). Then he foretold the rest. Historians confirm the incredible accuracy of this prophecy. After Babylon, the head of gold, came Media-Persia, the two arms and chest of silver, then Greece, the belly of brass, then Rome, the two legs of iron, confirmed by the iron rule of Rome with the iron sword and the splitting of the Empire into two "legs", the Eastern and Western Empires. Unlike a prospectus from a financier, which always states, "Past success is no guarantee of future performance", the Bible's 100% accuracy in its prophecies that have been fulfilled is a certain guarantee of prophecy that has yet to be fulfilled, actually being fulfilled. Therefore, the final stage of the Statue, the feet and toes of iron and clay, show the current fulfillment of this ancient prophecy as having started with The Treaty of Rome in 1954. Rome as symbolized by iron is mixing with clay, which some scholars take to mean a democratic political system. But as Professor Tytler demonstrated, ultimately true democracy will always devolve into a monarchy. One ruler, for one world, and one world system. The ten toes are revealed in Revelation as being ten kings or kingdoms. The United Nations has already divided the world into ten Regions ostensibly for reasons of global commerce, trade and security. Lands and seas are split into ten regions. Additionally, there are really only ten major players in the "Wider Europe", regardless of how many countries get in. So either scenarios provides a backdrop for this prophecy. These "ten kings...receive power as kings...with the beast. These have ONE MIND, AND SHALL GIVE THEIR POWER AND STRENGTH UNTO THE BEAST". Revelation 17:12&13 (my emphasis). So, there is "Unity in Diversity", "the world will be as one". I believe that when Israel is granted membership in the European Union, that will be a hugely significant step towards the final fulfillment of their destiny. "Who is like the beast, who is able to make war with the beast?" That rhetorical question in Revelation 13:4, gives a very good indication that the beast as guarantor of the peace treaty with Israel and her enemies will cause people to cry "Peace, peace, when there is no peace". Jeremiah 6:14. But it is only an illusion. "For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them". I Thessalonians 5:3. Anti-Christ, "...by peace shall destroy many". Daniel 8:25. "...they have seduced my people, saying, Peace: and there was no peace". Ezekiel 13:10 |
