"Without faith it is impossible to please God, for those who come to Him must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him." Hebrews 11:6. What does God say about Himself? "That which may be known of God is made plain to us, for God has shown Himself to us." How has He shown us that He exists? By the awesomeness of His created order. Look around you; The oceans, the mountains, the forests. Look up; The stars above, the sun and the moon, the comets, the infinite space, the galaxies, all finely ordered, moving in balance like the finest watch. "The heavens declare the glory of God and the firmament showeth His handiwork." Psalm 19:1 "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth." Genesis 1:1 "In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God." I John 1:1 What or who is the "Word"? Jesus is the Word. As you begin to read the following pages, may God open your hearts and minds to His Word, to Jesus, the Word made flesh. The Bible is also the Word, because it is a written testimony of Jesus, inspired by the Spirit of God, The Holy Spirit. Even without the Bible, man is without excuse in denying the existence of God and hence Jesus. When the psalmist penned the words above under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, most of the Bible which we have today, had yet to be written. Nevertheless, the Bible makes it clear that unbelievers are without excuse, because the created order is such a strong testimony of His existence. How blessed we are in this age to have the full counsel of God, the Bible, the written expression of Himself. Hundreds of prophecies written thousands of years ago have been fulfilled, many in our lifetimes and some even as you read these words. But the active agent of receiving this information is faith; simple faith. "Without faith it is impossible to please God" Often individuals confess that they don't have faith or that their faith is weak. There is a remedy for these problems. God has given us all the tools we need. If you lack faith or have faith and want more of it, I pray that you will continue on and learn more about the Creator of Heaven and Earth, His provision for mankind and His love for you. I would like to dedicate this book to my Grandmother, Alma Mills. I know that though she is no longer here on earth, she is present with the Lord. Her one great desire was to be with her Saviour, Jesus, and she taught her whole family to love Him and by her example, showed us that to know Him was to love Him, and that the way to know Him was through knowing His Word.
