King Of The Jews - Summation and Conclusion
If one takes the entire body of end-time prophecy and compares it to today's news headlines, they are virtually identical. The pieces of the jig-saw puzzle are being moved into place and the picture which is emerging is that which is prophesied and predicted in God's infallible word, the Bible.
When for over 2,000 years there was no Israel, in our lifetimes, in "this generation", we have been witnesses to the re-birth of that Nation.
Jesus Himself said, "Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled". Matthew 24:32-34. The fig tree is a symbol of Israel, the last piece of the puzzle to be put on the table.
"All these things" are "wars and rumors of wars", "nation shall rise against nation... there shall be famines, and pestilences and earthquakes in diverse places". Matthew 24:6,7. "and there shall be signs in the sun... And upon the earth, distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;" Luke 21:25
It is almost universally acknowledged that the world is undergoing dramatic climatic change and an increase in tectonic and seismic activity; or earthquakes. Earthquakes not only kill people on land, they produce Tsunamis; "the sea and the waves roaring". There is a dramatic upsurge in the number and strength of hurricanes, again, "the sea and the waves roaring". I just saw a documentary confirming that THE SUN ITSELF is undergoing change or as Jesus said, "signs in the sun".
The situation in the Middle East is a Gordian Knot, that no human can unravel. Iran is poised to push the entire world into Nuclear Warfare, believing that it will usher in its own "False Christ". The Mahdi sect, of which Ahmedinajad is a fanatic member, believes that he can only come when the world is plunged into total chaos. Iran's President has vowed to wipe Israel off the map using any means at its disposal. He knows that this will cause World War III and he couldn't be happier... "there shall arise false Christs and false prophets... " Matthew 24:24
In the past 30 years we've had multiple gurus and Jim Jones and David Koresh, the Dalai Lama, Rabbi Schneerson and any number of others claiming or being acclaimed by their followers as being Christs.
In my research, I spoke with a Lubavitcher, a follower of the late Rabbi Menachem Schneerson whose followers believe that he was the Messiah. However, the Rabbi refused to confirm or deny that he was in fact the Messiah. The Rabbi then died. The kind and gentle young man I spoke with showed me a well-worn picture of Rabbi Schneerson which this disciple kept in his wallet.
But since the Rabbi had recently died I asked the young man if he believed in a personal Messiah. He said their movement now believes in a Messianic Age, not a personage.
At the polar opposite end of the spectrum is Reformed Judaism. I recently interviewed a Rabbi from that denomination, a lady, which in itself shows the distance between the extremely conservative ultra-Orthodox Lubavitcher sect. I was surprised to hear an identical answer to the same question vis-à-vis the Reformed Judaism view on Messiah. The lady Rabbi stated that they too are not looking for a person, but a Messianic Age.
These two individuals by no means speak for all Jewish people, but show I think a great convergence of opinion from a great divergence of background. But notwithstanding, one man is going to emerge who will by peaceful means and flatteries obtain the kingdom and endear himself to Israel and be accepted as their deliverer and guarantor of peace with Israel's ravening enemies.
Will he be like another King Saul? Will he be the Assyrian? Syria is crouching now as a lion, watching and waiting, encouraging mischief amongst the warring factions in Iraq, facilitating terrorism and working as a proxy for Iran. The ultimate target of their blood lust is Israel. That is the ultimate target of all of Islam. Israel and Islam cannot co-exist.
Just days ago, the President of France, the current head of the EU, announced that "Either we must bomb Iran, or Iran will bomb us". France has tried to ignore the onslaught of Islam on their own soil and felt the terror of nights of burning cities and knows that the enemy is playing for keeps. All of Europe is waking up to the enemy in their midst.
This is surely the distress of nations, with perplexity, of which Jesus spoke. In some ways the world is like an old grade-B Sci-fi movie, where the people wake up and find they have been infiltrated by human-like aliens bent on destruction of the planet. The threat now of home-grown Islamic terror is being felt in Europe and anticipated in North and possibly South America, Australia, Asia, Africa. In short, everywhere. In the United States, every city and town regardless of size has a substantial population of Muslims working in every capacity; doctors, nurses, scientists, lawyers, AIRPORT SECURITY, hoteliers and the list goes on. There are more Bosnian Muslims in St. Louis than there are in Bosnia. Without them, the country would grind to a halt.
The ultimate rebellion for today's youths will be to convert to Islam. Since before Cassius Clay became Mohammed Ali and What's his name became Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Islam has made major inroads into the African-American community. Particularly strong is the converting of prison inmates from the "White Man's" religion. The terrible irony, unknown to virtually all African-Americans is that the Koran states that no black face shall enter paradise.
This was the rationale behind the Arab Slavers, who 400 years after the start of the triangle slave trade, still ravage the continent of Africa enslaving black people. Light skinned Muslims are committing genocide now against dark-skinned Muslims using this same precedent as their excuse.
Kingdom shall rise against Kingdom, and Nation against Nation, Wars, distress of nations with perplexity. The headlines are ripped from the Bible. Pestilence; Bees which account for a major part of our food supply are succumbing to some type of pestilence. AIDS is a pandemic. Bird flu and West Nile Virus, Ebola, they are all just waiting to explode on the world scene.
On the other hand all this fear plays right into the hands of the powers that be to institute global control in the name of security. Security from terrorism, security from disease, security from greenhouse gases etc., etc., etc..
"In that day shall the Lord defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and he that is feeble shall be as David; and the house of David as God, as the angel of the LORD before them". Zechariah 12:8
In conclusion, the tiny Nation of Israel is the David versus the World Goliath. At some point in the future, whether to accommodate the other religions of the world, False Christianity and Islam or to appease the oil producing Arab Nations to assure a free flow of oil to the rest of the world, Israel will be marginalized and set upon.
The Anti-Christ, King Saul type, will promise them peace, but there will be no peace. When all hope seems lost, the true Messiah will return and rescue His beloved Israel destroying their enemies who are His enemies in the process.
"In that day will I raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, and close up the breaches thereof; and I will raise up his ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old". "And I will bring again... my people of Israel". "And I will plant them upon their land, and they shall no more be pulled up out of their land which I have given them, saith the Lord thy God". Amos 9:11&15
Finally, though this next verse was spoken by Jesus expressly for the Jewish people during the Great Tribulation, it is an encouragement to all Believers even today. "And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh". Luke 21:28
On a personal note let me leave you with this beautiful promise from God's Word. "Now unto Him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, To the only wise God our Saviour be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever. Amen". Jude 1:25
